Back story: fossil fuel companies hijacked CAFE negotiations to sell more gasoline. Autos ditched sham negotiations; California stepped in. @realDonaldTrump pantsed, pissed off; now Barr launches this. Odor of retribution.
@realDonaldTrump Flip it: antitrust conspiracy by fossil fuel to interfere in CAFE negotiations so less auto competition for cleaner cars? If autos fight back hard, discovery could get interesting. Did fossil fuel companies push DOJ to investigate?

Here are all the companies we know have left the @USChamber at least in part over its climate denial and obstruction (it’s tied for worst climate obstructor in America):

Total market cap? More than $2.2 TRILLION.

Which raises the question: what forces are at work that makes the @USChamber willing to lose such members, to cling to climate denial and obstruction? I suspect a flood of undisclosed fossil fuel money; that they got bought.

One important thing to non-lawyers may not realize re: all the legal drama around #DefendBOS this week:

The judge's refusal to accept @DARollins's disposition of these charges & forcing these cases to (illegal) arraignments gave every one of those people a criminal record.
@DARollins Even if he had dismissed the cases *immediately after arraignment* the legal act of accepting the charges creates an item on a Massachusetts criminal record. There is no way he didn't know that.

IMPORTANT: Mueller testified Trump gave "hope" to "criminal activity" when he spoke glowingly of WikiLeaks *after* he'd been briefed on Kremlin election interference on August 17, 2016. Does anyone realize this begins to make out an aiding/abetting charge? Attn: @FrankFigliuzzi1
@FrankFigliuzzi1 1/ Under federal law, you can't take any action that "induces" a crime once you have knowledge with "high likelihood" that crime has been committed or is being committed. I've long argued Trump may be guilty of aiding and abetting. Mueller's testimony seems to bolster that view.
@FrankFigliuzzi1 2/ "Induce" means "move by persuasion or influence" or "call forth or bring about by influence or stimulation"—so one can't "move [someone to criminal activity] by persuasion or influence" or "stimulate" criminal activity. How does that differ from giving "hope" to such activity?

One of my big papers last semester was on the history of neighborhood associations in #Charlottesville, and how their use of zoning laws was an extension of the other exclusionary practices they used to keep their neighborhoods wealthy and white.
I am going to create a very long thread highlighting most of what I found. The details in this are obviously very geographically specific, but it is safe to say that the practices and attitudes underlying it can be found all over the country and in the histories of other cities.
This was supposed to be a map-based racial landscape argument, and towards the end I have several maps and images to show the effects of zoning over time in black and white neighborhoods, because it was a lot of work and it looks cool, haha.

Yesterday late afternoon #Russia/n forces took 3 positions in Qusseyr and Juseh and established checkpoints. #Hezbollah, not informed of the Russian presence, came close to these forces and asked their immediate pull out+
Following the direct intervention of President Bashar al-Assad, the Russian force pulled out this morning and avoided any clash with #Hezbollah in the area.

hezbollah maantin and kept all positions. The #Russia/n move was not coordinated.+

#Hezbollah did not...I repeat, did not pull out one single element from the area.

I spoke to people on the ground: The Russian decision was unclear and considered unwelcome by the forces on the ground. Still, many elements of this move are unclear.
