While there's no firm plan for a hearing yet in either chamber, holding one would give members a chance to press the vendors on some of the significant cyber issues we've heard about recently.
Of course, the vendors may simply not show up for a voluntary hearing. Lofgren didn't say whether subpoenas were on the table, as the activists hoped.
