I was looking for a concise explanation of what Boris Johnson is trying to do by proroguing Parliament. @Usherwood gives it a shot in this thread, arguing Johnson wants to force a #Brexit deal w/the EU but has no new ideas what that deal ought to look like. HT @APHClarkson
I’m no expert on British politics, and perhaps my impression of Johnson is mistaken. I see him as a fundamentally frivolous person, very like Trump in that way. He may be looking for the quickest path to a campaign that would put him in front of cheering admirers.
That’s not to say @Usherwood isn’t right about Johnson & #Brexit. I’m just conditioned by this time to think about how a temperamentally irresponsible person might think, and attempt to use, power. If he really likes attention & cheers, perhaps that’s why he’s doing this.
