Those reviews were necessary bc endangered fish continued to decline; Jewell wrote that she expected the review to lead to increased protections. 2/

We can no longer trust the feds to protect #SFBay, #salmon, #steelhead, #sturgeon, or #smelt from unsustainable water diversions.

@GavinNewsom @SenToniAtkins @sallyjewell @NOAAFisheries @USFWS must use the best available science. For example, the feds should immediately list Longfin Smelt as endangered – their review in 2009 found listing warranted scientifically, but action was "precluded" for bureaucratic reasons.

Unfortunately, the feds no longer believe in #science. So, if @GavinNewsom wants to defend CA from science-denialism, signing #SB1 is a necessary 1st step.
