2/6 In many emerging markets, FinTech evolution starts with payments, then moves to lending, then to insurance and wealth management. We’re clearly at the inflection point: 80% of @qoalaid customers never purchased insurance before!

3/6 @qoalaid founder @harshet is leveraging tech to create better experience. Claims on flights booked on OTA partner PegiPegi, for eg, are paid after a 45 min flight delay (others only cover 4 hr + delays) & a Qoala chatbot pays that in seconds vs the 14 day industry standard.

4/6 Better insurance experiences are also offered for parametric healthcare (eg dengue insurance with @tokopedia), financial services (eg credit insurance with Investree), and smartphone protection, sold in partnership with JD.id.

5/6 Bus trip insurance, thru Red Bus, has skyrocketed since it was launched in March. @qoalaid is also working with Kudo and Grab, through their Velocity program, to leverage their vast network of offline retailers & agents to bring insurance to the underserved across Indonesia.
