THREAD: The simplest way for Corbyn to win #brexit is to refuse to endorse a GE until a delay is secured from Brussels.

BJ needs an election b4 the 31st Oct but can't be to blame for calling one. JC can call his bluff by insisting on a solid guarantee of avoiding 'the cliff'. 1/

Corbyn is reported as having endorsed a GE in any circs, but his advisors quickly moved to suggest a condition might be an already secured delay so that no matter who wins the election, the so called no deal armageddon would be averted. 2/

Tho he's tryin to steal a march, BJ is not the only route to an election, parliament can still get there via a proper VoNC which would allow JC to unceremoniously dethrone Johnson while securing an extension to take away the forced drama of an election on a cliff edge. 3/

We are headed to the polls, it would suit Labour better to get there via JC & Tories better to get there via BJ
After 3yrs of a Tory gov conspiring to stop brexit, they will now run the 2nd snap GE since the ref claimin its Labour's fault brexit hasn't happened yet. 4/

The only ace left in Corbyns hand is to dictate the terms of the election. By refusing to support a GE that Johnson calls for, he can take away BJs main blackmail tactic - that of taking us out on the 31st no matter what. If he really wanted to brexit he'd call a Nov poll. 5/

If Johnson can't call an election on his terms, he would be left to take us out, which he doesn't want to, and his remainer MPs would suddenly get exponentially more desperate to stop no deal, enter JC with a proper VoNC. 6/

Damaging Johnsons standing, enabling a guaranteed delay and leaving the election some space to breath and focus on other domestic issues, without that, potentially fake, sword of damocles hanging over our heads. 7/
