My generation, those born from the 70s to the 80s, were children during the Moi era.

We never knew dialogue. We knew silence and fear. The idea that the public had a say in this country was dismissed with "Wanjiku doesn't need a constitution."
Moi corrupted everything with money and surveillance. I know friendships that broke, families betrayed, because Moi compromised a brother to betray a brother. Moi supported dictators like Abacha and rescued Rwandan genocidaires in 1994. That the evil that runs in Kenya's blood.
But Moi's presidency followed the Uthamakistan era which was worse. Jomo killed many heroes, including the Mau Mau leaders. He tainted the souls of his people with oaths. He exported land greed from the white highlands to Coast and the Rift Valley.
Jomo supported apartheid and made Kenya hostile to ANC exiles. And he cheated the world using the image that the British created of him as a pan Africanist.
My point is that ALL the evil of colonialism, Jomo and Moi that I have mentioned was planted in the souls of my generation. My generation is the one now ruining Kenya with the heists and colonial policies that are treating the Kenya people like slaves and sub-humans.
The Kenyans who did not succumb to this evil live and die at the margins. Those who were not assassinated went into exile and retired there. We watched Miguna being shipped out of Kenya, and Onyango Oloo died before Kenya embraced him.
Now I watch my generation being at the front of major public heists and bad public policy. Matiang'i, for example, has done nothing but implement anti-human policies in education, media and now security. He's a manic neoliberal who should be working for Boris Johnson or Trump.
I watch Waiguru and wonder what kind of person one has to be to behave so innocent in public when she has left a trail of tears behind her. And now Walingo makes me wonder if now this kind of brazen showing the public the finger has become a woman thing.
It is my generation that has imposed a flawed #competencybasedcurriculum on Kenyan kids because we are nostalgic for the Moi days, and we think that we were better than everybody else because we went to A levels.

And my generation has a psychotic adoration for the wazungu.
We impose policies from IMF, World Bank and other foreigners without asking the simple question "what's in it for them?" At the universities, people mention Harvard, Yale and whatever without once thinking how odd it sounds to worship the West do openly
Long story short, we need a new generation to lead. Kenyans aged 45 to.60 are tainted, corrupt and soulless. They sing about being Christian and revolutionary, but are corrupt and sell us to the British over and again. I'm tired of seeing my age-mates sell Kenya to the devil.
