I’ve been asked to do a tweet on followers and tips as to stop people using FBR parties.

I started this account in November 2016 as Mr.Spock. In January 2016 I joined a Star Trek Resistance group started by @ShawnInArizona, who at the time was Captains Log.

I briefly had to change from Mr. Spock to Tuvok (another) Vulcan.
There were only about 20 members in the group at first. Shawn started doing follow back parties then which helped us grow in numbers, but only by a few hundred. They were fun more than follow back based.

It was the beginning of the Resistance we got followers quickly as new members would seek us out.
But most of all we were active everyday.
In late 2017/18 we noticed that others had started to do FBR parties, but we noticed a difference. A lot of them were coming out of

Russia, pretending to be ex-Republicans and “this is my first FBR party.” They infiltrated Resistance groups to feed back strategies and cause chaos. So please don’t attend those now.
First of all, my account was severely suppressed in April 2018, I was getting new followers

but my number kept going down. My follower count didn’t change much for 14 months. So here is what I did to gain followers from the beginning.
I liked, retweeted and always commented on big accounts. That gets you noticed. You will see follower count go up if you do this.

Spend more time doing this than original tweets.
Don’t mass follow and then unfollow those that don’t follow you back, it’s against terms of service.
Vet accounts. A simple vet is looking at their followers, who they follow, look at their likes, media and definitely

their replies, you can tell a lot about an account by how they reply.
If you are a 2019 account, it will take longer to build followers as there are a lot of bots and trolls that have been released. So people might not follow you back yet, so it’s really important to interact.

How you use this platform is really important, it’s a business and you have to follow their rules. Talking first amendment to an international business is futile. How you reply to big accounts and verified accounts is really important as they get away with more. New accounts

and accounts with less than 5000 followers are more likely to be shadowbanned. So no name calling or using derogatory words, you will definitely be suppressed or banned or worse suspended.
I personally block trump, his family, Republican Congress.

They want positive conversation on this platform now, and they really are punishing those that don’t abide. But one thing I will say is this, after being suppressed and gaining hardly any followers for over a year, and seeing accounts over take me in followers I realised one

thing. Follower count is not the most important thing. What you say is. Even though I wasn’t gaining followers, my tweets were still having good reach and that’s more important.
A good way for new accounts to gain followers now is to go more local. Find people in your area

Find you local Indivisible group, local Democrats, local ACLU, NAACP etc etc. Because being active locally is what is going to be important. Anyway I’ll leave it there. My group will comment too with their suggestions. 🖖🙂
