It could use a better translation and annotation. A lot of the references will make no sense to Anglophones. Not that this matters directly--it's Turkey's problem to solve.
But indirectly, understanding what happened in Turkey is *extremely* relevant to understanding a near-archetypal trajectory of authoritarian populism. Persuading people, in other countries facing it, that it arrives in stages (surprisingly similar ones),
gives rise to distinct personality types, both among those who benefit from it and those afraid to challenge it; that is *not* peculiar to Turkey or "countries with weak democratic institutions," and that all countries dabbling with this regime type--
risks winding up in a world described by this video, could be useful. So I'd like to see a serious essay in English a) explaining what this song means. and b) that the song won't make any difference, because this kind of thing doesn't: it just makes people feel strong emotions.
I may have to write it, if I want it done to my own standards.
But it shouldn't be me; it should be an Anglophone now living in Turkey.
