1/ How's the "fight against real antisemitism" going @mattkenard?

Is it going like this...?
2/ Was the real fight going well when you chastised the Guardian for pulling letter supporting Williamson *which you knew* was signed by people who'd said antisemitic things, inc. at least one non-Jew who was basically a Nazi?



3/ Was the real fight against real antisemitism going well when you shrugged off any and all Jewish concerns about Chris Williamson, including Jewish Corbyn supporters such as Mike Segalov?

4/ And then when you were shown something by Williamson you knew you couldn't possibly be seen to defend, you just ignored it and then carried on defending him as if you hadn't seen it?

Was the real fight against antisemitism taking a nap?💤
5/ Was the real fight antisemitism going full-throttle whilst showing solidarity with Winstanley, suspended from Labour for all sorts of stuff re: antisemitism, including saying Momentum should be renamed "friends of Israel" for taking a slightly stronger line on antisemitism?
Does it include tokenising the tiny amount of Jews who say the rest of us are lying about antisemitism - which you incompetently hide behind support for "left wing Jews" then, as we've seen with Segalov, Lansman etc, this support vanishes if they speak out re: Left antisemitism?
7/ The real fight against antisemitism doesn't even need to hide behind the tokenisation of "good Jews" - it can even include non-Jews who go for the double whammy of saying its all made up AND Israel causes antisemitism.
8/ But no... the real fight against antisemitism is against me... The Jew who makes fun out of the sort of crankery that would see (totally coincidentally of course) every Jewish Labour MP (bar Alex Sobel) & the Jewish chair of Momentum removed from their posts.

I'm sure the great mass of Jewish people, who have legitimate concerns about antisemitism in the Labour Party, can now sleep easy knowing that Matt is on the case with his real fight against antisemitism. 💪💪💪

1/This is the email Canary journalist @wrightismight sent a Jewish victim of antisemitism after the Panorama doc.

In the doc Stephane discussed how a threatening video, calling him a "fucking Jew", was made by a Labour member and posted online. The police were involved.
If it could be any more deplorable, that journalist was even informed that Stephane was orignally a Corbyn-supporter and member of Momentum who was pushed out by anti-Jewish racism...

So today, they have republished the same story, leaving that out, whilst continuing to assert that the BBC are hiding information about the Jewish victims.

Like clockwork letter appears in @guardian from the same 100 Jewish people in support of someone suspended from Labour re: antisemitism, this time Chris Williamson.

A look at why some of them may take that position:

1/ Elleane Green, 9/11 truther of the Mossad did it variety.
2/ Tony Greenstein. Expelled from Labour for persistent use of antisemitic language.
3/ Norman Finkelstein. So unrepresentative must this opinion be within British Jewry they had to go to America. But fear not, Mr. Finkelstein has some great ideas, not just about how antisemitism isn't real but about how racist tropes about Jews are actually true. Lovely stuff.

1/ It isn't a silly quibble to point out that @jsternweiner framed his thread as "veteran Jewish peace activist smeared as antisemite" when the criticism was of what Secker actually said, not that he was "an antisemite."

May seem a subtle distinction but it isn't, here's why...
2/ It's a deceptive straw man which is then taken up eagerly by others.

Paint the person as wholly virtuous, above reproach, make the issue about them and skim over or ignore what has been said or done and it's knock-on effect.

Same trick with the Warsaw Ghetto graffiti.
3/ Same with Miko Peled "who happens to be a Jewish American-Israeli peace activist and son of prominent Israeli general" who also happens to have made statements which clearly cross the line into antisemitism. Completely ignored by Mr. Weiner in his defences of him.

2. I've had fellow Jews tell me that I'm an idiot for supporting Labour. I've been told that Johnson's a better choice or "just as bad" & I've been laughed at. I've had to watch the Chief Rabbi celebrate Johnson's election and then have him ignore my letter asking for solidarity.
3. When I support Labour's positive and tangible attempts to reform, I've been called "deluded" or stupid. When I say how vital the party are for black Jews like me, I've been told the party can die for all people care. I felt invisible, erased, unheard, and worthless.

Sometimes it’s 50/50, sometimes is 80/20, sometimes it’s 40/60 — just depends on the situation.

It’s easy to love when everything is going well.

Carry the load when your spouse needs you to, preferably w/o them asking.
Don’t keep score.

Just focus on giving more than you get.

If you’re doing that, and asking yourselves, “What can I do for him/her?” Instead of, “What am I getting out of this?” you’ll be together for a long time.

#AntiSemitism emerges strongly when a civilization is in decline. It's like clockwork. This is not new—we've been seeing it for 2,000 years. We each need to ask ourselves how we may have contributed to our own self-destruction, and make the radical choice to love our neighbor.
The reason for this emergence is that when a culture is in decline, from fear, citizens refuse to look at their own contribution, and therefore must externally displace blame. Seeing it in almost every tweet about this evil shooting. Germany didn't get there in a vacuum; nor we.
Every case of Jew-hatred we see, from Charlottesville to Pittsburgh, is a symptom of our crumbling demise. It knows no political party; this hatred is systemic and murderous and we don't fight it with more rage. We fight it with love—getting in each other's lives in radical love.
