The two-state "solution" was never viable, and it was never going to happen. Ever. The only solution is, and always has been, one state for Palestinians and Jews with equal rights for all and a guaranteed right of return for all Palestinian refugees and their descendants.
Kind of surprised Netanyahu isn't annexing more of the West Bank, but it's important to remember that this is a starting point-- this is only the beginning of full West Bank annexation
He hasn't said that openly of course, but come on, it's obvious that Israel won't just stop here.
The area Netanyahu is promising to annex, eastern part of the West Bank by the Jordan river, is all part of Area C and has dense concentrations of Israeli settlements, and they've already expelled more Palestinians here than they have in the western chunk of the West Bank. So…
…it makes sense for Israel to start with this area. But the thing is, many of the most populous Israeli settlements-- Modi'in Illit, Beitar Illit, and a bunch of others-- are actually the western side of the West Bank, near the Green Line. So that's probably what'll come next.
