Government moans that the EU isn't treating us nicely. "The relationship between the UK and the EU as a whole is unsympathetic" and points out we're not getting decent bilateral engagement. (That's because the EU negotiates as a block, idiots). Almost no bilateral mitigations.
The public and businesses not only aren't ready, but they are become less and less ready because Brexit fatigue has set in (indeed - I feel it every night) and because nobody knows what Brexit will look like.

KCC leader Paul Carter says accelerated progress has been made since the Operation Yellowhammer document was drawn up. (Also incorrectly claims that OY represents "the worst case scenario") #r4today
"Issue is to make sure that the haulage and logistics industry understand what paperwork is to clear customs." So his implicit tack seems to be that it will be their fault if things go wrong.
"As long as we get satisfactory progress on how the customs clearance model will work, and communicate that effectively to the logistics industry, I'm pretty confident we will avoid disruption in Kent." Will Paul Carter turn out to be the Michael Fish of Brexit?

Boris Johnson's unlawful prorogation killed off two key bills that MPs had been working on for a long, long time. I guess the Etonian charlatan sees them as collateral damage in his political games.

And we're off. Govt motion #2 for a General Election. Boris out of the gate with a reference to the Speaker always acting in what the *Speaker* judges to be in the National Interest. In Parliamentary terms, that's a low blow.

"The Surrender Act has now passed; he's done his level best to wreck this country's chances of a successful election, by his own logic he must now back an election." Entire Labour front bench avoiding looking across at the Tories. Amazing how many directions a minister can gaze.

1) we have to talk about the mythical #Brexit deal

I saw this and was originally going to write a thread about the gullibility of leavers but then it occurred to me, why shouldn't they believe Johnson is working towards a better deal? Everyone is telling them it's possible
2) all of us in the Remain bubble understand the duplicity of Johnson, and the play acting of the Labour party on "jobs first brexit", and even why the opposition parties are sticking with "stop no deal"and not "stop #Brexit"

But consider how all this looks to your average voter
3) LDs, Greens,SNP, PC are all clear - there is no deal better than staying in the EU

But all rebel alliance parties together are certainly *not* saying that. A fair few people, especially but not only Labour, are pretending that a better deal is possible,if only we asked for it

#Letwin is expected to make an application for an emergency debate sometime after 17:30 which, if successful, will result in an emergency debate on Brexit sometime around 18:00

Senior Tory rebels have been in to see Johnson and have basically come back out describing the meeting as being crap, and the Johnson is still sticking to the claim that the whip will be withdrawn from any Tory MP that votes against the government

All the current rumblings from Labour still seem to indicate that they won't back a vote calling for a General Election unless legislation is in place to stop a No Deal Brexit on 31 October, but that's still a case of wait and see
