A thought on 9/11 from a New Yorker who was there: as time passes and memories fade, let us not forget the amazing job @RudyGiuliani @BernardKerik the NYPD and FDNY did on that day and later. Not many would’ve risen to the task as they did. Their competence gave us strength.
Of so many vivid memories of that day—nearly every moment—something I think about most was watching Rudy’s press conference that night on TV at a friend’s place in Williamsburg. He was obviously very emotional, sad and angry and shocked, but he was sober and professsional.
I volunteered for Rudy’s campaign in 2007. Ron Paul mocked him for his references to 9/11 and it disgusted me—still does.

You will have to’ve been born 1000 times to do anything even close to what Rudy did on 9/11.

His critics would’ve folded like a cheap suit by 10am.
