1/ There are several factors why Latinos didn't have a high vote turn-out and/or didn't vote progressive. One, highlighted in this nice short video, is that they couldn't see the effectiveness of their vote:

2/ There are others and they shouldn't be neglected. One is the divide between documented and undocumented. Just like African-Americans were taught that Latinos came to "steal their jobs", documented Latinos were taught that undocumented Latinos were a problem to them.

3/ They bought into the racist narrative and either didn't vote or voted against their interests. The statistical data showing that undocumented Latinos commit less crimes than the average American, or that undocumented Latinos..

4/ ... contribute more taxes than benefit from social incentives are not sufficiently known. Many still buy into the racist narratives according to which the undocumented Latinos are a "social burden", a claim that is easily contradicted by facts.

5/ Hillary Clinton has often been criticized for not highlighting the issues of the white middle class and rural poor. Wrong: she was busy uniting minorities. Latinos have failed to see their power because racists have successfully...

6/ ... divided minorities, making it hard for them to see that Latinos, African-American, Middle-Eastern and Asian immigrants and descendants share interests and the same oppressors.

7/ Finally, one thing that hasn't been highlighted enough is the evangelical plague in Latin America and among the Latino population in the USA. It's a major problem for political action.
