In light of the Ukraine call revelations, I'm going to renew my observation: Donald is not gunning for Biden because he fears him, but because he doesn't.

Biden is his preferred opponent in the general. He's hoping for a Biden win in the primary.
Biden has all the vulnerabilities Hillary Clinton did. Literally. He's the easiest person on the table to take literally every But Her Emails and Uranium One conspiracy theory and just transfer it verbatim, as a member of President Obama's administration.
By taking shots at him now, Hair Furor not only weakens Biden in the general but he anoints Biden as his rival, aiding his frontrunner status.
Donald's campaign was heavily data-driven. Republicans *pretend* to believe elections will hinge on how many of them and their leaners can be persuaded to cross the aisle, but they know the truth: Democratic turnout determines the results.
As the centrist candidate, Biden will get all the reliable Democratic voters and some Nevers who have left the Republican Party. Who will he excite? Who will he turnout? Who will he inspire? Not many.
A reliable Democratic voter and an "Anyone But Individual One" voter will by definition vote no matter who the candidate is, though
Add to this that Donald is an "anti-establishment" candidate who ran on grievances against the Obama administration. A Biden candidacy lets him renew those narratives and play to his strengths despite being the incumbent.

Whoo... not going to retweet Maggie Sunshine's zero self-awareness tweet on this article, but. It's a doozy, a view from outside the country on reporting on Hair Furor and how much our press tidies up his rambling blather.

Back when he gave more press interviews, I noted ruefully how prominently the released transcripts all bore a disclaimr that they were "edited for clarity".

Which isn't unique to him, but when you contrast that legend with how incoherent the edited transcripts still were...

Imagine thinking that any tool that makes harassment on twitter less visible or gives more control over how people interact with your tweets isn't worth having if you can't afford to pay someone to do it for you.

I am 100% here for reply hiding and I hope it leads to more.
If being able to move individual replies to a hidden page is the first baby step to letting us moderate replies to our tweets... I don't care that it will allow a brand or celeb to hide criticism of a bad tweet. We'll all just quote and screen shot instead.
If anything, making dunk ratios non-viable will just make the Streisand effect kick in, as instead of being contained to one spot the reactions will be everywhere.

But meanwhile we'll be able to moderate our own replies.

Hey, friends and neighbors. I want to talk a little bit about UBI (Universal Basic Income), disability, and the all-fired dignity of work.

So, I don't have UBI. I don't get any kind of cash benefits from the government. But I do have a very unusual income source: the internet.
I am Good At The Internet in a specific intersection of ways that lets me make a living that has ping ponged between subsistence levels and holy sugar I made how much tweeting for eight hours.
I'm not rich, but I can almost always get by and usually do better than that, doing stuff that is independent of any employer or set schedule or ability to leave the house or meet an arbitrary schedule.

As someone who is currently very sick who hasn't been allowed to eat food for several days, and has been too sick to even be on Twitter in days, I'm just going to say that if #cancer were that easy to cure, 17M Americans, myself included, wouldn't have it.
