Conservatives fashion themselves at being “good at money” but their inaction on climate change proves otherwise.
The ultimate irony about their delayed action is that the longer we wait, the more it costs! Had we started taking action 30 years ago, we’d be talking about a much smaller price tag. Want to know something even more ironic?
Conservatives complain about the “government in their lives” but inaction on climate change will only result in MORE government in our lives. When there is a natural disaster, who has to clean up the mess? Correct. Government (FEMA, etc).
And when we have more storms that are increasingly severe who will have to be around more? Yep. You got it.
For Republicans to ever claim the mantle of fiscal responsibility again, they need to join the civilized world in introducing and supporting legislation that takes BOLD steps now. Delaying will only give them more of what they don’t want.
