Here are some examples of lies in political ads that Alex discussed with @mrjamesob yesterday on @LBC. There are almost no rules to stop political advertisers saying whatever they want in their ads unlike all other ads. Our campaign wants to change that. Thread 👇

First up is one of the leave ads Alex mentioned
"Turkey is a candidate to join the EU. But it’s unlikely to join any time soon. [In addition] Turkey must get approval to join from each existing EU member." Read a full fact check here

This was the Labour out of home ad mentioned:
For 35 years before joining the EU, the UK had legislation on paid holidays. Laws promoting equal pay and banning race discrimination both pre-date the UK’s membership of the EU.

This Conservative ad is from a few weeks ago. The ad had been altered from 7.1 bn to 14 bn! Read more here:
