Patterson seems to be wasting public resources lobbying (Labour says in breach of Parl rules) for 2 firms.
One, Lynn’s, trying to persuade the FSA, that other EU Countries had approved their labelling.

This time Finnebrogue Naked Bacon wanted to avoid labelling their product as containing ascorbic acid, saying other EU countries permitted it.

It seems that much time and resources wasted explaining to Lynne’s & Patterson why their labelling had to include this as an additive.

He had previously lobbied Priti Patel, then Dept for International Development to use testing services provided by Randox.

Randox has been mired in controversy over claims that scientists manipulated forensics data, leading to the quashing of convictions.

Not content with that he has tried to promote their services with Rory Stewart, then in DFID, and also the same FSA that he embroiled in labelling issues re Lynne’s -Finnebrogue

This time trying to get them to use milk testing services purporting to identify antibiotics.

Nope.

It seems that Paterson declares that he receives a total of £112,000 a year from the two firms, on top of his parliamentary salary of £79,000. He charges them £500 an hour.

He has also used House of Commons headed writing paper to write to Ministers on behalf of Randox.

It is in breach of the rules to use House of Commons headed writing paper for business purposes
