THREAD: Published some more numbers from our @IpsosMORI Political Monitor today. Some highlights.

Satisfaction with how the government is running the country

Satisfied 14%
Dissatisfied 81%
Net -67

Since 1977, only Major and May's government's experienced worse ratings...
To illustrate the point... (no giggling at the back)

"The word ‘competent’ is an accurate description of the current government"

Agree 22%
Disagree 66%
Net -44

In April 2015, Cameron's govt scored +6.

Moving on...
Public satisfaction with how Johnson is doing his job as PM

Satisfied 37%
Dissatisfied 55%
Net -18

Net rating is down 11pts from July.

But Corbyn's net rating as Labour leader is -60...
Who do you think would make the most capable PM?

Johnson 50%

Neither 16%
Other / DK etc 4%
"Labour is ready to form the next government"

In Feb 2015 33% agreed Lab were ready. Went on to lose.

In April 97, 55% agreed Lab were ready. We all know what happened there.
So what have we learned?

In a General Election, Labour will want to make the campaign a referendum on an unpopular government.

But the government will want to make the campaign a referendum on Corbyn and whether Labour is ready....

Whoever cracks that wins

THREAD. For those of you looking for something else to talk about other than Brexit, @IpsosMORI have some new polling out today on how close people feel to each of the main parties, what they think of TIG and where they stand on policy issues. Some edited highlights below...
1. On TIG, we find 25% are favourable, 27% are unfavourable and 48% have yet to form an opinion (neutral / don't know). Those favourable are most likely to be graduates & remainers with a good chunk of the 2017 Lib Dem vote approving of TIG but some fans in all party voter groups
2. Maybe it is not surprising that people have yet to make up their mind. They are not a party yet and only 15% are following the story VERY closely - though people have generally heard of them so that is something for TIG (& 1 in 4 are favourable already of course)

NEW THREAD: The Ipsos Mori political monitor is out. Some highlights.

1. No change in headline voting intention. Lab and Con neck and neck
2. Net satisfaction with Theresa May as PM stands at -25.

33% satisfied with the job she’s doing. 58% dissatisfied.
3. Tory voters broadly positive (64% satisfied) but a sizeable minority (30%) are dissatisfied with the job she’s doing.

Today, with support from @TrustAfrica, we launched an unprecedented database of over 1,250 corruption cases in Nigeria.

The database provides information on ongoing and decided corruption cases, judgements and ACJA/L downloads.

The database will allow citizens to search and monitor ongoing cases in court and also download and share cases in a simplified infographics.
Journalists and active citizens will also get information on #UpcomingCorruptionCases in various courts from the database to enable them track and report ongoing cases.

NUMBER 1: Poroshenko wants to amend the constitution by removing a clause allowing the Russian Fleet to be stationed in Crimea. "After we retake Crimea, the Russian base will no longer be stationed in Sevastopol!" he exclaimed.
