I break the reactions to the $24m settlement between EOS and the SEC into 4 camps:

1.“They Got Away With Murder”
2.“You’re A Bunch Of Commies”
3.“It’s About The Consistency, Dummies”
4.“Pragmatists (aka the ‘What Can We Learn’s’)”

My take?

1. Money has ALWAYS brought power, and brazenness has been a historically great way to get money
2. This definitely reinforces the need for regulatory clarity and consistency - it DOES suck to have spent money on compliance and then see this

3. Haters rejoice; nothing here has any impact on how well (or not) EOS is doing
4. There is a reason that people are so attracted to bitcoin: if you want a totally different system, you really have to opt out entirely.
