Being a former #smoker from #Australia I found it rather odd the researchers asking questions about #GraphicWarnings and their effect, of a group that included NON #smokers.
As time has gone by (not necessarily in this order):

- #Tobacco advertising was banned long ago.
- #Smoking bans put #smokers outside, where they were more obvious to people walking past the #SmokeFree buildings.
- #GraphicWarnings were included on cigarette packs.
..

..
- Health campaigns showing the health effects of #smoking have aired on TV. As far as I know, those #GraphicWarnings based campaigns have not run in a few years.
- #Cigarettes have been put out of view at sales points.

So I made this spreadsheet to allow cross-referencing the 'smoking status' to the comments and .. guess what!

By /far the majority/ of /supportive/ statements for showing even more messages to #smokers, Were. From. NON-smokers.

The people least likely to ever see these messages, and who least need them, think this is 'novel' and will have a significant effect on ppl who #smoke. 🙄

Of course, it WON'T. This is what ppl of #Australia who #smoke think of the current #HealthPorn.

Sidebar: Note also how they made it a study of 'university students'? The casual reader might conclude 'youth' wherein the age range was actually from 18 (legal age to smoke in #Australia) to 47 years old.

And to those #THR advocates who do not understand why I'm railing against these moves against ppl who #smoke:

1) I advocate for ppl to have accurate information & alternatives to #smoking #cigarettes. Which this vile rubbish is nought of either.

2) As soon as they 'hone it' for #smoking, these types'll be baying to see it applied to #vaping, consuming #snus or #zyn and #HnB.
If you won't stick up for the rights of #smokers to not be subject to this nonsense, don't expect ppl to come rushing to the defense of #THR.
