I remember a time when the left at least PRETENDED to worry about furthering the agenda of the superrich overclass.
Marxism was always evil and misconceived. But Plato is correct that a large division between rich and poor is unhealthy for a polity. It creates, in effect, TWO polities with opposed interests. This causes FACTION, and is bad.
But today the super-rich can breathe easy. The left is now CONSUMED by its obsession with race and gender and “identity” of all kinds to care about economic class.
It’s obvious in hindsight. If your ideology smashes society up into competing victim identity groups, you HAVE to throw out the quest for “solidarity” among the workers (which could never work internationally, but can nationally).
