Day 0: Terror threat
Day 1: 370, UT, precautionary measure
Day 2: Everything is normal.
Day 10: Everything is becoming normal
Day 20: Kashmir is returning to normalcy
Day 30: Kashmir is normal, but you can't go there.
Day 40: This is normal for Kashmir
Day 50: ...1/
Day 50: Kashmir is normal only but can't disrupt militants communication without shutting off ALL communication
Day 60: Soon there will be normalcy.
Day 70? 80? 90? 100?........

Govt keeps bringing "normal" to normalcy and gets further and further away. #StandWithKashmir 2/
Forget sympathy for Kashmiris. Forget any "human" feelings for them. Say Kashmiris are evil and must die only. No one cares. Ok fine.

How is it helping the ANYONE?

Are Kashmiri Pandits closer to going home? 3/
Country is in economic crisis. We are spending massive money to hold Kashmir in a limbo, instead of getting taxes off the prime earning season.

Never mind Kashmiris earning or not or starving or not. How is this spending while broke and loss in taxes useful for India? 4/
India has ALWAYS kept international interference in Kashmir away. Today, Kashmir got discussed in the UN. Leaders of various countries are raising questions. There is a freaking avalanche of adverse stories.

How is this helping India's stand on Kashmir? 5/
Is there anti-India propaganda on Kashmir? Of course. But here's the thing. Govt's official actions, admissions are damning enough, and communications blockade makes the worst stories seem true - if they are false, denying verification doesn't make us look innocent. 6/
When you have thugs in the Parliament talking about politicians under house arrest with lies and "kanpatti par gun" you don't need a fricking Guardian or Al Jazeera to put your credibility six ft under. Amit Shah did just fine. On record. In Parliament. 7/
And it just doesn't help that the "kanpatti par gun" approach is smoothly contrasted by Imran Khan. Pakistan's track record on human rights is a joke. Our govt has managed to make them look sane and us demented. For what? Never mind Kashmiri rights. What about INDIAN dignity? 8/
Never mind Pakistan and Imran Khan. We have the frickin TALIBAN asking us to act in a responsible manner. This shouldn't even be on the table. It is, because our own govt's actions are indefensible. 9/
Govt continues in its perpetual inertia of election campaign mode. Massive drama was made of #HowdyModi

Got clobbered with opposition to the event. Flat out rejection, adios, criticism.

That the fricking PM of a country manages to have a show anyway isn't an achievement. 10/
An achievement would have been if the US spoke better about India after that. Instead, concerns about humanitarian issues in Kashmir were in an official report on financial aid before Modi even left the US. Trump repeated his offer to mediate on Kashmir the very next day. 11/
First Bernie Sanders, now Elizabeth Warren have questioned India's actions in Kashmir.

And the much expected trade deal? The rescue of our economy? What happened? Where is it? 12/
But don't hope the govt will learn a single thing from this. We've seen masterstroke after myopic masterstroke recklessly cause irreversible destruction in its fumbling attempt to force something not happening to happen.

This govt neither cares nor learns. 13/
Note, this thread absolutely assumes you HATE Kashmiris, want them to be punished only. Not even expecting basic "insaniyat" - by now it is abundant that is too much to expect from this govt.

but how is this helping the pandits? The Hindus? the economy? The country? 14/
ALL that this govt has learned, is that the only way to recover from a masterstroke that turns into a clusterfuck is to shrug off all accountability, blame the usual suspects and distract the TV news with.... a new masterstroke.

Be very scared. 15/done
