There is a bubble of "investment" instruments offering incredible returns everywhere.

To invest safely, focus on asking the right questions.

"How will I get my principal back?" forces you to think strategically.

"How much will I make?" pushes you towards emotional decisions.
"How will I get my principal back?" + "How does it work?" = due diligence + Logic

"How much will I make?" = emotional reaction. It focuses you on returns rather than investment process.

If you don't understand the process, don't invest.
That's why my answer to "Should I invest in crypto currencies or Forex trading?" is always NO.

Don't do it unless you understand how it works.

Why home ownership is a bad investments (part 1) - A THREAD
Caveats 1:

1. Home ownership has some inherent values including:
- Psychological comfort.
- Societal validations.
- Aesthetics.
- Feelings of safety.

These things are important but difficult to quantify so this analysis does not discount the important of these factors.
Caveat 2.

Home ownership serves other purposes in society and in individual lives that are, once again, not amenable to investment modelling.

This is purely an investment analysis of home ownership versus other possible investment models.

Okay, this sets off another #branding related rant from me. Creating branding and identity systems is my bread and butter and I can understand why people would feel the need to make a #personalbrand in order to make themselves feel more marketable to customers and employers
but I think people who do this are making a mistake and concentrating on the wrong thing. I replies to this tweet in what basically sums up my philosophy towards personal branding. Do your work and your brand will build around you. If you spend too much time thinking about it

Precisely. Saudis stepped in with huge arms purchases which not only created jobs but also prevented double-dip recessions in US. In 2011, Saudis bought $33 billion in US arms - for perspective, that’s 8X France’s TOTAL arms sales that year! (Source: reuters.com/article/us-usa…)
2. US needs to build and sell weapons (and have them tested on the battlefield) to maintain its military superiority and earn more sales. The Iran-Saudi conflict has been very good for some major military contractors (including Boeing and Lockheed Martin). reuters.com/article/us-usa…
3. The more US weapons that get bought and tested in the real-world (as of now, Saudis are the biggest real-world/external testers of US weapons), the more contracts major US defense contractors will win (= more jobs in the US and elsewhere).

I had this idea I wanted to launch for this QWI IPO. Between travelling, getting sick and a few other issues I just couldn’t manage to get it all done in time. I think it’s worth doing though, so I’m going to try anyway.
Over the last few yrs I’ve witnessed the huge growth in interest in stocks & investing from the public. This has been driven by the gains being made by companies on @jastockex, paired with strong marketing for some IPOs.
( $WIG.ja had enough ads to rival Chug Ittttttt 🤣).
@jastockex The gains for the people who have participated (even the non-experts) in the local stock market have been really great. I suspect that more millionaires have been made in Jamaica over the last few years than at any other point in our history...
