It annoys me that the most obvious trend in sex offences data is contested and minimised time and time again.
So here's some facts from govt data on sex offences and CSEW (2017):

Over 11k women out of 25k women surveys were sexually assaulted or raped in the last year
Out of 25k men surveyed, 0.8% had been sexually assaulted and 0.3% had been raped in the last year
Yet for all of these thousands of sexual offences - 99% of the offenders were male

Know what’s worse than the guilt we put on women and girls who didn’t report their rapist when eventually he goes on to rape another girl?

The guilt those women and girls feel when they DID report their rapist, our CJS did fuck all and then he raped another girl.

Shit system.
I reported my rapists and the police did nothing and he raped a 16yo girl after me. We both have babies by the same rapist.

Then me AND her went together to report him and the CJS did nothing again.

Then he attacked a 17 year old girl after us both.
Then ME HER AND THE OTHER GIRL reported him again and they did nothing.

We decided to do a Clare Law Disclosure on him to protect the 4th victim. Police did nothing.

Then he attacked and got her pregnant and beat her when she was 26 weeks pregnant and the baby was born prem.

Isn’t it interesting how we say that male rape and sexual assault stats are low because of underreporting and fear of disclosure but we say that the high stats of female rape and sexual assault is because they lie or exaggerate about sexual violence?
So we are saying we don’t accept the male stats cos they must be higher in reality and we don’t accept the female stats Cos they must be lower in reality.

Despite the trend in stats being the same all over the world for decades. Sexual violence against females is always higher
Like what issue do we have with acknowledging that sexual crimes are much more likely to be committed against women and girls - why must we assume that men and boys are simply underreporting and that’s what’s causing the discrepancy?

I wasn't inclined to tweet about #Kashmir, but after seeing the amount of disinformation, I am going to.

I'm back in the newsroom today after a week in Srinagar.

Things are NOT normal.

People are seething. Kashmir is likely a tinderbox waiting for a spark.
When I got there on Monday, just hours after Article 370 was abrogated, the city was locked down.

I walked a km to find the nicest auto-wallah in the land.

He didn't have a clue of what had happened, why his city had overnight turned into ghost town -- blanketed with security.
Later that evening, we spoke to @shahfaesal in his living room.

Since satellite TVs were still working, news had trickled in.

“We might see an eruption when the guard is down."

“People are taking it as an act of humiliation.”

Then, the pelting began.

1. Public breakdown. It’s my mom’s 76th b-day Thurs. She’s my sole caregiver from a bad car accident resulting in a #TBI. R Home #Foreclosed from my #medical bills/crappy #insurance. All I wanted 2 tell her is I found #investors to charitably save our home.⤵️
2. I know accidents are called that for a reason but my mom’s my best friend & everyday/hour she’s helping care for me. After all she has done & years she’s lost taking care of me, she doesn’t deserve to lose her/our forever home in the last 1/4 of her life w/a #disabled daughter
3. How can I recover and find an #angelInvestor that can save such a wonderful mother/daughter duo? We’re in our home paying rent as ordered by the court until an appeal is over & we’ll be out w/nowhere to go, live, survive. No family. We only have each other & our 3 ‘lil pups.

This is completely false. There is no mention or no proof of their claims.

Killing cows doesnt even mention in the chronicles of ancient travellers too.
