Looking at the stats Sunderland is an area of low migration.

It has a wafer thin ethnic minority. Far-Right problem.

Winning and losing can trigger hormonal changes. Testosterone levels are increased when a team wins.

Is Sunderland feeling impotent because of chronically bad sports results over the last 3/4 years? Could that be the reason why radicalism is spiking in the city?

In Newcastle, a city close to Sunderland (11mile) shares conurbations, is not having same growth rate in radicalism.

I was talking to a prominent British lawyer about Arvinder Sambei.

He said the fact she had a contract with the US State Department to teach intelligence is the most damning part of Spygate. It shows Mifsud was working with people with top US security clearances.

Sambei has ruined people's lives by publically claiming she had evidence on terror suspects. It has cost the British government millions in compensation claims.

Should have notified the US Embassy and the US DOJ if they were protecting Mifsud a key witness.

Why didn't MI5 move on it?
We now know that Arvinder Sambei and Martin Polaine had a contract with the US State Department to teach intelligence in places like Libya.

We know Joseph Mifsud's London Academy of Diplomacy and Link Campus were venues.

I've just watched some guy shooting shit about covering shootings of hypothetical posh kids while laying down on a couch.

Was it at home or at CNN?

Now if he'd said it while at work in a staff meeting. I would see what the problem was.


I don't think I've ever lay down like that while socialising with a colleague.

Maybe the morning after a Christmas party or something.

If it was in CNN. Its damning. If it was in someones house. I've got questions.
Was the CNN staffer disabled?

Was he smoking a reefer?

Had he been drinking the night before?

If he wasn't at work. Was he talking in general or was he repeating editorial guidelines?

I'm all for exposes. @bendepear the Channel 4 stuff on Cambridge Analytica was great.

Fascinating & surprisingly resonant episode of Firing Line from 1966. The topic is extremism, & Buckley is interviewing the head of the ADL, an organization WFB says engages in defamation more than anti-defamation(!).
The ADL's sin, according to WFB, is exaggerating dangerous extremism on the right. "America suffers from a terrible national affliction, namely the conservative movement." WFB is angry that the ADL's work suggests that the Goldwater right, WFB's right, is linked to the far right.
WFB is quite taken aback that "It is the sublime historical duty of the ADL to expose and resist" people like himself. WFB's first question is if the ADL has any plans to write a book about the extreme left. Bothsidesism goes way back, folks.

Okay then, I am in a hotel with two weeks worth of groceries for a family of four (really don't ask about my day) but there is wine and I've been putting this off so welcome to this evening's cultural activity! It is a reading of Amy Chua's book Political Tribes! There's wine!
I need a few minutes to breathe and start everything charging and figure out this food situation because ironically I have stuffed this mini fridge to capacity and also have nothing I could actually eat for dinner. There has to be pizza delivery to the motel near nothing right?
For those of you new to my feed, I often do things so you don't have to, and reading books that you should know exist but shouldn't spend time or money on is one of them.

Eventually I will prejudge a book wrongly and feel very chastened but I keep spinning that wheel!
