Bank lobbyists are griping about how I use props - that it’s too flashy and not meant to “provoke dialogue” (this is code for: you don’t play by *our* rules).
But here’s what: it serves special interests when they can make financial services seem boring, or make people feel like it’s too complicated for them to understand.
The American people are smart! They care about being cheated, and they understand in their bones when bank practices are unfair.
Wall Street lobbyists would prefer we be boring and put people to sleep. But Committee questions are meant to engage our constituents, and that’s what I try to do everyday!
