If Labour back Boris Johnson's Brexit deal on Saturday in large enough numbers to push it over the line, they might as well start disbanding the party on Sunday morning, because they're finished. Please RT if you agree.
Reasons?
- Worse than Theresa May's deal
- Doesn't protect environmental standards, workers' rights etc. (regulatory convergence is in political declaration i.e no legal standing)
- Abandoned best possible trade deal for "good enough" one
- Will cost UK £130 billion in lost GDP
- Leaves us vulnerable: we're out, so there's no escape hatch, but after transition we're in a no deal situation again because all the temporary measures of transition period disappear. So if good deal isn't negotiated then we're stuffed
- Leaves us weak, because EU knows above
- Will usher in Tory majority government so they can go back to wrecking the UK (pulls fangs of Brexit Party; Labour sidelined for having been the midwife to a diabolical Tory Brexit)
- And of course bye bye Scotland. They have the duration of the transition people to rustle up a second indyref and leave. Why would they stay, when they know the full force of Brexit is incoming?
Added: abstentions are the coward's way out. Vote. The. Deal. Down.
