Over the years I’ve amused many if you with my never-ending battle of the bulge. I’ve gone through the salad and sardines diets, the paleo diets, the intermittent fasting diets in my many attempts to lose the extra 15lbs.

Nothing ever worked. Or rather it worked for a little bit but never worked for long.
Until now.
Happy to say that I am near my high school fighting weight, have held steady at that level for more than three months without any effort whatsoever and generally feel good.

Don’t expect any immediate action from EU. They watch carefully what unfolds in UK. They will not rush to answer a request for a new extension if receive it from UK. They want to keep pressure up on MPs /2
EUs legal #Brexit deadline remains 11pm in UK on 31 October. All EU leaders will return to Brussels for emergency summit to debate any new extension but they *could* do so as late as 31 October itself /3

So what does the Supreme Court ruling mean for #Brexit talks? As ever during the rollercoaster ride of UK domestic politics, the European Commission refuses to comment publicly on “UK internal matters” .. however hard journalists push /1
Privately the court ruling has been described to me by EU sources as « an embarrassment » and « a humiliation » for the PM but the official EU position remains that under EU law, its negotiating partner is HMG, whoever is at its helm. Right now that remains Boris Johnson /2
The Eu insists it remains open for “technical discussions”’with the UK on renegotiating Brexit deal despite Supreme Court ruling .. though in same breath EU diplomats add there’s nothing really to negotiate since, they say, the Johnson gov has yet to produce realist proposals /3

So. Tomorrow the House of Commons will vote on a series of possible amendments to Theresa May's 'Plan B' - or rather the 'plan of action to achieve a Plan B' - which itself officially reads as follows:
The amendment most likely to pass – and therefore the one on which most attention has been paid – is this one from Conservative party chairman Sir Graham Brady. It's effectively an instruction to go back and seek *some unstated other way* to avoid a hard border in Ireland:
Tonight, Theresa May has asked her backbenchers to vote in favour of this amendment. She is basically asking them to tie her hands, so that Brussels will clearly know what it would take to win the Commons' backing for any deal.

Despite her #BREXIT deal being defeated by biggest margin a government has lost a vote ever maybot seeks concessions on backstop despite being told to bog off by the EU with no realistic hope of a different answer
Corbyn meanwhile refuses to talk #BREXIT without no deal being ruled out despite knowing she can't do this whilst maybot makes no concessions either.
