Somalia & 4 Horn of Africa nations proposed a $15.8 billion package financed by the IFIs to integrate their imfustructure & energy networks. majority of that $15 billion will go to Somalia the single biggest investment in the country’s history

The purpose of these projects are:
1-improving regional imfustructure connectivity.
2-building resilience.
3-promoting trade and economic integration amongest 5 countries (Somalia,Dijibouti, Eriteria, Ethiopia, Kenya).

First of these projects are a network of 6000KM of road upgrade and 4 economic corridors with the total price tag of $9 billion:
1-kismayo-liboi-Garissa(438KM)
2-Berbera to Dijibouti (720KM)
3-Bosaso to Berbera (800KM)
4- Mogadishu to Lamu (686KM)

2) energy network: Somalia is embarking on a journey to build a modern electricity grid & eventually connect it to of that of the neighbors in a electric pool which will lower the price,stabilize the load & host of other benefits.Essentially creating an internet of electricity.

$1.57 billion for building:
1) the Somali transmission backbone: this is the mule that will carry the electric load everywhere and enabling Somalia to install utility scale renewable for the first time. Needless to remind you that somalia is the Saudi Arabia of Sun&wind.

Feasibility studies for interconnection between:
1-Somalia&Ethiopia
2-Somalia&Dijibouti
3-Somalia&Kenya
4- three transmission lines between Ethiopia, Kenya & Eriteria🇪🇷

Enabling power trade and power pooling between all 5 Horn of Africa countries ($150 millions)

Single digital market for all Horn of African countries ($1.7 billion):
This digital single market is modeled after the European digital single market which ensures freedoms of movement of goods and services for electronic services for small& medium firms.

Regional trade facilitation: $500 million for creating the regulatory climate and framework to excute all of these projects.

$2.8 billion for building resilience & strengthening resilience through initiatives such as ID4D ( the unified digital ID program), employment skills training.
