Trump is the world's greatest hypocrite. He not only bragged about himself repeatedly during his #Baghdadi announcement, he's now using the alleged killing to raise campaign money for himself.
After his announcement, his campaign sent out an email saying: "It is a great day for the United States of America, and for the rest of the world. Under the fierce leadership of our Commander-in-Chief, the radical ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is dead."
You are then directed to an opinion poll on Trump that only allows you to choose between "Great", "Good", or "Okay". (Which is funny, considering how much he mocks polls he doesn't like).

In July, a @UN report warned senior ISIS leaders "are among those who have made their way to the #Idlib area..."
@UN Abu Bakr al #Baghdadi most recent messages: a video from April 29 & an audio message from September 16

But for someone like Baghdadi sending out messages always comes with a risk...
After the release of the audio in September, BrigGen Len Anderson, deputy commander of JTF-Ares, told VOA:
"The more videos that come out gives us, quite honestly, another opportunity to assess, to see what #ISIS leadership is thinking & maybe gather some intelligence from that"

BREAKING - #ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-#Baghdadi revealed in-person on new #ISIS video post-#Caliphate defeat in #Syria-#Iraq.

He appears in fine health, despite reports of severe injury.
I'm honestly unconvinced that this "diminished" point translates over to #ISIS & its existing/possible support base.

To me, this seems like a Western-centric point from which to analyze a video containing #Baghdadi's 2nd appearance in ~5yrs - a big deal.

#pt: For #ISIS, the struggle is theologically infinite - it isn't "defeated" or "prevented" by territorial losses.

e.g. #Trump's #Syria withdrawal announcement in #Dec '18 would have been perceived as a sign of eventual victory.

- #Baghdadi's video = fuel, not sign of weakness.
