Amazing that seemingly normal people complain about the chants against Trump “Lock him up!” yesterday.
1. Trump violates multitude laws & the US state proves itself impotent. Then people SHOULD protest.
2. To protest publicly is a democratic right & a fundamental freedom. Those who complain don’t seem to understand the 1st Amendment.
3. Some who complain seem to believe that the president is above the law, which means that they have understood neither the division of@power or the US Constitution. Sad for lawyers who take that position.
4. This was the first time that Trump allowed himself public exposure in the US & he could not stand the test. We should complain about him isolating himself from the people, not call for more isolation.
5. Remember that Trump regularly calls for the beating up of line protesters at his rallies that are strictly controlled by his toughs. Apparently some bleeding heart liberals accept that order but not benevolent oral chants. What moral is that?
6. How can we cede the right to shout lock somebody up to criminal crowds who openly and blatantly call for violence? We had better stand up for freedom & the rule of law & you all know who opposes it.
7. The obvious conclusion from the lovely chanting at the Nationals’ game yesterday and in Chicago today is that the time has come to march & chant: “Lock him up!” The US needs to reinforce its democracy & rule of law! #LockHimUp
