now it makes sense: @nytimes reports Selam Gebrekidan and @mattapuzzo just dropped a mind-blowing investigation into the agricultural mafia network that Orban has created to milk European subsidies (yes, while bashing the euro) nytimes.com/2019/11/03/wor…
this is not just Hungary - Orban a good example because of he seems to have put state apparatus in service of intimidating farmers, opponents and buying allies - but look at the concentration of CAP subsidies going into the top 20% recipients across Eastern Europe.
