Deputy PM @M_McCormackMP says linking bushfires to climate change is 'woke capital-city greenies ravings'.Might come as a surprise to the local protestors outside his office or the local kids who joined the climate strike. #politicslive @amyremeikis theguardian.com/australia-news…
@M_McCormackMP @AmyRemeikis Or like Wagga Council, which declared a climate emergency...

theguardian.com/australia-news…
@M_McCormackMP @AmyRemeikis At the time, Wagga mayor Greg Conkey said: “We believe it’s our job and our responsibility to plan for the future, to look after the future of the city."
Then he said:
“Some people you’ll never convert...🧐
@M_McCormackMP @AmyRemeikis So there's kids in his own electorate who joined the climate strike plus a local GP @BeckTrudi who protests outside his office weekly.

@M_McCormackMP @AmyRemeikis @BeckTrudi This sort of rubbish about 'woke inner city greenies' is exactly the sort of crap that divides the nation on the most important issue that his own constituency faces. Which also happens to be my electorate.
@M_McCormackMP @AmyRemeikis @BeckTrudi The seat of Riverina faces drought, water shortages and quality, rising energy costs due to a lack of settled energy policy. But it's oh so much easier to do to the "inner city" blah blah than the policy work on climate.
@M_McCormackMP @AmyRemeikis @BeckTrudi Inner city shit canning kills farmers social licence at a time when we need cities to understand how important the job of food growing is for their own bellies and how important food production is to the economy of regional communities and national security.
@M_McCormackMP @AmyRemeikis @BeckTrudi Not just that...how about an MP who looks at water quality issues for his constituents, exacerbated by shortages, that are causing health problems in the seat of Riverina. theguardian.com/society/2019/m…
@M_McCormackMP @AmyRemeikis @BeckTrudi But you know the thing that really gets me about a person purporting to be a rural leader? This dance of the 7 army surplus blankets, this fluttering of eyelids looks like a mere convenience.
@M_McCormackMP @AmyRemeikis @BeckTrudi Here he is, handing out $1m to Lockhart in his seat to establish the town as Australia's first town powered wholly by renewable energy and operating on a micro grid.

theland.com.au/story/6402892/…
@M_McCormackMP @AmyRemeikis @BeckTrudi ‘Acting Prime Minister Michael McCormack said the project was transformational.
"This will re-energise, literally, Lockhart and this is a project almost the entire town, if not the entire community has gotten behind," he said.
PEOPLE SUPPORT TRANSITION TO ADDRESS CLIMATE CHANGE
@M_McCormackMP @AmyRemeikis @BeckTrudi Speaking with a forked tongue helps no one, least of all your constituents.

Yours Sincerely,
A constituent.

The End.
