From the @DHSgov perspective, imagine a scenario in which the default is that Dreamers can be deported for simply existing. It will tear families apart (remember, Dreamers children are citizens) and waste limited resources. 2/
The Trump Administration does not believe in prosecutorial discretion though they will try to wiggle out of their cruel position that way. They have authorized @DHSgov for "zero tolerance." That authorization is the green light, across the US, to go after Dreamers. 3/
The consequence will be deportations, but just as likely it will be that Dreamers go underground, do not engage as citizens or military members, do not pay taxes, do not report crimes, do not remain as the law abiding citizens they are today. Safer? Please. 4/4 @natsecaction
