the american socio-financial tax system is so dysgenic it actively promotes and rewards not getting married or not making more than X amount of dollars if youre at the low middle level. not sure most people ever see the toxicity of this up close and in person [...]
theres a “gap” where youre making too much to be covered by the umbrella of things like medicaid but then also not making enough to actually float your way through the penalties for coming out from under that umbrella.
im the kind of person to just push through it but honestly its like, it would actually be easier to just shut down one of my revenue streams and then go back into the lower bracket. also when i marry my gf my income will count with hers and she’ll get kicked off her healthcare. ?
