Republicans may yet snatch defeat from the jaws of victory by questioning Vindman's loyalty to America. It would be ironic if the same Republicans who insist on questioning Vindman's loyalty turn around and wonder, "How come immigrants believe GOP is anti-immigrant?"
Take it from me. Every legal immigrant who has worked hard to make America their home, Democrat or Republican, will resent GOP leaders for casting aspersions on Vindman's loyalty to America, just because he got a job offer from Ukraine which he duly rejected and reported.
Keep in mind that Vindman was brought to the U.S. when he was three and a half years old. His father inculcated in him gratitude for America. Vindman laid his life on the line for America in a war. He reported the job offer from Ukraine to his superiors and filed the paperwork.
Also, Vindman testified that he treated the offer to become Ukrainian Defense Minister almost like a joke, because he does not even hold a particularly high rank in the U.S. military.
