I keep seeing this idea that the Lib Dems would seek a coalition with the Tories *if* there is no overall majority, and the Tories would agree to a #PeoplesVote
Cue loads of teeth gnashing about the Lib Dems and whether they would do this 😬

Remember that 70-odd percent of the Tory membership is pro Brexit
All the hardline pro-Brexit ones backed Johnson
They're not even that keen on his Deal

And the very, very, very last thing these members want is a 2nd Referendum that would open the door to remaining in the EU
Even if Johnson saw this as a way to cling to power, he would not have enough of the Tory Party backing him to get away with it
Johnson would essentially be doing a Lib Dem policy *against* massive opposition in his own party

Well, some of them are, and probably more MPs are than members are, but if they *were* about power more than the ideology of Brexit, why the hard line stance until now, and withdrawing the whip from 21 moderates?

So if there is the scenario where the Tories are *just* short of a majority, coalition with the Lib Dems in return for a 2nd referendum is not going to be the way out of the bind IMHO.
