Why has the dem house failed so epically this year? Its simple really. In Nov, 2018 the Dems won control of the House by a 18 seat majority. Those 18 seats were won by less than 100k votes out of a total of 113+million votes. That's reduced to less than a 0.1% of the vote
In other words, the Dems have about a 50.1%-49.9% majority in the 🏠 on a "population vote%".

There are different ways leaders act depending on the level of the majority they have.

This is an accepted behavior.
For instance, if someone wins a large majority they are considered to have a mandate from the people to push their agenda.

The smaller the victory the more the winner has to work and compromise with the opposition.

It works in reverse for the loser.
The bigger the loss, the more the opposition should give way to the "will of the people". The closer the loss the more the opposition should be included in decisions.

It's not a stated rule but it's a generally accepted mode of behavior in "democracies and republics"
The Dem house didn't follow this behavior. They never once tried to work with the opposition. What bills they did pass stood absolutely no chance of getting through the Senate and little chance of gaining support by the gop in the house.
Their actions towards the executive branch were even worse. From day one of their majority they have made no effort to work with the President for the common good. In fact, from day one they have sought to remove him. These are not the proper actions of a 50.1% majority.
There was no mandate for the Dems to impeach the President. There was no mandate for the Dems to ignore the Senate. There was no mandate for the Dems to freeze out the GOP in the house.

Compromise, if both parties get some of what they want, isn't a dirty word.
So, the Dems have shown no effort to compromise in 2019 even though the election results were screaming that that was the best policy. Because of this failure, the Dem House of 2019/2020 has and will continue to fail epically.

USMCA would be a good case in point.
If Pelosi was not a 3rd rate politician, she would understand that the USMCA passage is the type of thing her small majority was elected to do. It was not elected to impeach a president nor push wholesale socialism but to work for the common good on issues that need address.
Compromise is the only way man of these issues will be resolved without tearing the country apart. Trump's immigration plan while not perfect was a good example of the compromise needed. So far, the Dem house has offered no compromise on anything and thus have failed.
