not only do these guys know what they're talking about but their output offers a clear demonstration of the advantages of rollback netcode—KOF97 Global Match & Samsho VSP (Steam/PS4), which were patched with rollback, walk all over their earlier Neogeo projects (Garou, LB2)
something that's always bothered me about mainstream fighting games reviews is how little impact the quality of the netcode seems to have on the tone of the review—maybe ppl don't want to comment on pre-release code, maybe ppl have simply been inured by decades of trash netcode
going back to SNK, those two Code Mystics releases I mentioned might literally be the only SNK games with better-than-awful netcode but ppl simply stopped addressing the issue at all a long time ago—what became unspoken knowledge should have been shouted from the rooftops
I use SNK as an example bc they're the most prolific about reissuing old games, which have a much lower technical overhead for rollback, but they're not alone: Arc's never had satisfactory code (& continued putting out old games with no online at all for longer than anyone else)
Capcom, both internal & external dev, is very inconsistent; I don't play enough Tekken/SC to judge but my impression is that Namco revamps things once every several years and then plateaus, etc

netcode's more important than ever but it's been reduced to a bullet point
