Every person in power in India needs to take responsibility for the horrific gang rapes there. That includes Bollywood producers and stars! Time to get rid of item numbers where one scantily clad female is made to dance for hundreds of lustful men in a dark room.

Indian cinema is perhaps the most powerful tool in India and it has been misused so many times. In the 1970s & 1980s, only way Bollywood producers could get sex scenes in was with rape scenes. A generation of mostly uneducated men grew up watching these films.

Did you know. In 1991 Bollywood film Benaam Badsha two super A-listers (Anil Kapoor & Juhi Chawla) played lead roles in story of a woman who is raped on day of her wedding by a thug. Instead of bringing him to justice she goes on a mission to marry him and does.

How Bollywood can make a positive difference:
- Stop storylines of heroes stalking women into submission
- Stop item numbers with ONE woman surrounded by hundreds of guys
- Talk about women's rights all the time (not just when an attack happens)
- Have more responsible messaging
