With the strongly Leave and Remain camps pretty well committed, those left to play for were the "make it all go away" voters.
With them, "Get Brexit Done", however misleading, plays better than Labour's "negotiate for a bit then have another referendum."
To Brexiteers, the emphasis is on the "Brexit." A promise to finally deliver the long-promised dream.
To those exhausted of the whole thing, the emphasis is on the "done." Finish it. Move on.
Its best case scenario for 'ending' this is 6 months, which would incorporate yet another (likely messy) negotiation and then a referendum to once again tear the country apart and dominate airwaves.
I'm not sure.
On the one hand, Jeremy Corbyn was going to be accused by CCHQ of "thwarting the will of the people" even if his every policy announcement came from a Farage Speech.
I don't know what the right answer was.
I guess I'm tired too.
Yes, obviously voters hoping this will cease to be a part of the discourse in the short to medium term are delusional.
The EU FTA, the US FTA, and every piece of economic news from now until 2420 are going to be poured over through a Brexit lens.
Sorry. 🙅♂️
