1/19 - Whilst drinking tea in a café this morning, two ladies opposite me were talking about the election tomorrow and which party to vote for. They were both well in their 80’s! I’ve summarised the argument one of the ladies made. I thought it was just fantastic!
2/19 - She asked her friend to imagine a set of boats ready to depart from a pier!
3/19 - Boat 1 (the Conservative boat) - a very luxurious boat with a destination of uncertainty. A journey that would go through an iceberg bigger than the iceberg that hit the Titanic. The damage could be minor or the damage could be fatal. Who would want to take that risk?
4/19 - Would the crew be able to fix the damage or very likely make it worse? She pointed out that the promise of that luxury cabin would just be yet another pack of lies - mis-sold and falsely advertised across the bias media outlets all routing for their pockets.
5/19 - Instead the commoners would remain in steerage only looking up to those lucky to be in first class and absolutely would have no say on the direction of the journey and the activities on the boat.
6/19 - Boat 2 (the Labour boat) - a plain and simple boat with no classification for accommodation. A renewed hope! The problem with this boat is the Captain and crew have no idea which route to take!
7/19 - There is a very big iceberg but the route to get round the iceberg is unknown causing uncertainty for the passengers.
8/19 - The crew speak of a wealth of fantastic activities they are going to offer but these have already been implemented to some of the passengers by another boat.
9/19 - They also do not want this cohort of passengers to have their say on their future journey.
10/19 - Boat 3 (the Lib Dem boat) - no point in talking about that boat as the Captain would press the button and the boat would be blown to pieces.
11/19 - Boat 4 (the SNP boat) - another plain and simple boat wanting to take a different journey with its passengers avoiding the massive iceberg. The media don’t sell this journey well as ultimately the big boats would be out of pocket.
12/19-They issue lots of incorrect information about what the journey might hold and the lack of activities the crew provide. The boat will hit many storms but they don’t think the crew and passengers are strong enough or intelligent enough to deal with these waves without them.
13/19 -The other boats simply protest and want to block passengers using this boat and route, but they offer no form of explanation as to why their route would be better. Some of the potential passengers are undecided because they don’t like the Captain orthe colour of the boat.
14/19 - Some of the potential passengers are undecided because they listen to the promises that are issued by the other boats. Some of the passengers listen to the media and don’t bother fact checking. The fact, of course, is that the Captain is the strongest amongst them all.
15/19 - It might be rocky waters (with a few holes appearing in the boat) but the Captain and the crew will lead the passengers to a self-governing land with a vision of hope, equality but more importantly a fairer passage for the generations of passengers to come.
16/19 - She told her friend that for the first time in all her years she was voting SNP instead of Labour. She was willing to take that boat not for herself but for the generations to come.
17/19 - I sat in awe listening to this lady and I hope I’ve managed to capture everything she said. I got up to leave and forgot my lanyard. She called over to me to tell me I had left my lanyard.
18/19 - She told me that she was 85 and hoped I would be voting tomorrow. I thanked her and informed her that I had been listening to her story and that it filled me with awe. She had a wee tear in her eye when I left.
19/19 - Please use your vote tomorrow and think carefully about the boat you want to journey on. But most importantly, choose the boat that will give the generations to come a fairer and more equal society. #SNPbecause
