Typed a tweet criticizing Trump, but decided to follow my own rule of checking 1st. Julia's tweet and the headline are misleading.

'Mr Trump said the US paid tribute to the victims of "one of the worst mass atrocities of the 20th century", but he did not use the word genocide'
You can obviously play the game of saying "atrocity" and "genocide" are not exact synonyms, but it's pretty close. Certain not something worthy of criticism given the much more muted positions of previous administrations.
Another fun fact:

"Atrocity" happens to be the same term the Obama administration consistently used to reference the Armenian massacres.
