Muslims will not be trusted until they adapt their monotheism to India's diverse polytheist ethos by rejecting such 'culture'. You cannot talk about 'breaking idols' and 'only Allah' remaining and expect people to take your calls for diversity and tolerance seriously.
This is why I think Urdu's cultural sphere is harmful. I can appreciate the language per se, but it's a mode of Arabisation of culture (and the intolerance that comes with that). From a South Indian POV, as S. India's Muslims adopt Urdu, they become more radical/Arabised.
Things like the burqa/hijab were a rarity when I was a child, now I see even toddlers wearing them. Travel to the Gulf, and Urduisation, has led to Arabisation of Muslims in Southern India.
