.@Sonos updates are evil for several reasons. 1) The current version starts inexplicably behaving badly until you realize it needs an update. 1

@Sonos 2) Then you can’t update it because you don’t have the latest version installed.
3) It has to update your base station and all of your Zones/Connects/Amps separately. 2

@Sonos 4) It won’t update on its own in the background. It waits until you want to use it, then forces you to stop everything to update.
5) It demands that you give it passwords to begin the update. 3

@Sonos 6) Then it does what I call “Interrupt the proceedings with idiocy” by stopping me to explain to me that it is in fact doing what I just asked it to do.
7) It periodically demands that I say “Ok” so that it can continue, thus forcing me to sit there and watch as it updates. 4

@Sonos There’s no doubt about it: @SONOS is evil. Their hardware is still good, but their software pegs the annoying meter every damn time. 5
