Tonight I've been contemplating OATHS. What does it mean that people like McConnell and Graham so casually break their oaths, even before taking them?
What does an oath mean to McConnell and Graham? A promise? To whom? The country? God?

If they don't intend to keep the oaths they will take, it seems they believe oaths are basically meaningless pomp.
They know their voters are blinded to their disloyalty to their oaths so there will be no consequences. They'll probably keep their jobs.

Their personal honor will be in tatters (if any is left after the way they've behaved over the past years). Do they care about that? Does it matter to other Senate Republicans that the Senate leaders think oaths are hogwash and stupid?
Many people believe in an afterlife in which they will pay retribution for their broken vows, especially when their oaths include the words "so help me God."
Since Graham & McConnell are supposedly Christian, aren't they at least worried about THAT part of it?
Or don't they even believe that God stuff they tout anyway?
