Two reasons I like this fantastic idea of 2 Senate trials:
Reason #1 - First trial focuses exclusively on Trump's Obstruction of Congress - which received *no attention* during the impeachment hearings.
The GOP whined about the lack of 1st hand witnesses. Now Trump supporters will hear several days of undiluted media coverage on WHY.

Reason #2 - Watching the 1st trial unfold gives Dems an advantage when preparing for the 2nd. Any nasty play by McConnell allows them to revamp their own strategy.
