Whatever happens next, understand & never stop pointing out that Donald Trump walked into office with no crisis with #Iran. He then filled his cabinet with warmongers, walked away from a multilateral diplomatic accord, and purposefully engaged in 'maximum pressure.' He owns this.
One has to wonder, did Trump know what he was authorizing, or (more likely) was he ignorant of the likely consequences of this action and/or indifferent to the potential war he may have just started.
Or of course, there's always the option that he knew what he was doing and thought that this would be a nice distraction from his impending impeachment trial. It's horrifying to even contemplate that level of self-centeredness, but it's also literally what he was impeached for.
