Americans must understand tonight that Trump just assassinated the second-most powerful man in Iran—a man presumed by many to be Iran's next leader

I'm not saying he wasn't a dangerous terrorist, I'm saying you and your family should appreciate how much closer to war we are now
Moreover, the Trump administration has just vaguely claimed Soleimani was *about* to run an unspecified operation against Americans, a dubious claim—because Soleimani *just ran* such an operation—seemingly intended to avoid getting Congressional approval for a possible act of war
However justified the killing of Soleimani, the fact remains that—facing an impeachment trial—Trump took an action (an action previous presidents of both parties passed on) knowing it could plunge us and the Middle East into the most dangerous military conflict since World War II
As talking heads around the country insisted that Trump was a "dove" who was trying to get us *out* of foreign conflicts, I wrote a book (published 120 days ago) laying out in 600 pages and 4000+ endnotes the evidence establishing Trump was about to plunge us into a war with Iran

Quite the block party going on today.

I'm not going to apologize for having been an author for 20 years. I'm not going to apologize for having written a well-researched/sourced book on Iran. I'm not going to apologize for telling folks this book is informative reading right now.
Second point: I don't know why many—but not all—Iran policy experts spent the last few years telling us Trump was a dove on Iran. That's not what my research uncovered. So I'm not going to say experts who were wrong were right just because they have full-time jobs in think tanks.
Third point: I welcome disagreement—from people who've read PROOF OF CONSPIRACY—with the 4,000+ sources therein. Good luck contradicting 4,000+ sources constituting the world's top investigative journalism. But those who say folks shouldn't read up on Iran now—no respect for you.

McConnell broke the Senate, and now he's shocked—shocked, I say!—everyone's not playing by Marquess of Queensberry rules.

Sorry for the language, but screw this guy. When he blocked Garland—making history—everyone said, "Don't do this—there'll be repercussions!" He just laughed.
There's no reason now for any Democrat to trust Mitch McConnell—ever.

So any situation requiring blind trust of McConnell—such as McConnell saying Democrats should trust that the Senate will take up the question of impeachment witnesses without a prior agreement—is a nonstarter.

Holy cow! Senior militia leaders killed in American strikes in Iraq, and could include Iran’s Qassem Soleimani or one of his top aides from Iraq. Beyond insane.
So far confirmed — the Pentagon is saying two senior operatives “linked to Iran” were targeted.

Iraqi TV claims that Qassem Sulaimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis were killed.

- The newly-discovered oilfield in Khuzesan was named Namavaran, adding the field had an oil in place estimate of 53 billion barrels.#OOTT #OPEC
- The field was estimated to hold53 billion barrels of crude oil in place and there is a possibility of its southward continuation.

- exploration activities began in2016 and given that 31 b barrels were previously discovered,22 billion barrels were added to previous estimations.
- Assuming 10% recovery rate in the field, 2.2 billion barrels of crude oil have been added to the country’s crude oil production capacity.

-This is the second largest oilfield discovered in Iran following Asmari Oil Layer in Gachsaran with 54 billion barrels of oil in place.

Firstly, I don’t think so that war is about to happen. US will increase pressure on Iran, they have already sanctioned them heavily and forced the Oil/gas importers of Iran to back out and Iranian oil exports have fallen significantly within a year.
